Q: If I finish this program, am I automatically a supervisor?
A: No. The Kate Walker Training Online 40 Hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course only meets the education criteria set forth by the licensing boards. Upon completing this program, participants seeking the clinical supervisor credential must still meet the criteria mandated in their state regulations, apply, and pay all applicable fees. State licensing boards have ultimate jurisdiction.
Q: Is this course approved by the North Carolina licensing board?
A: North Carolina does not pre-approve individual 45-hour courses.
Instead, the NC Board requires that your supervisor training be provided by an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider.
Kate Walker Training is NBCC ACEP #7040, which meets the NC requirement for recognized training providers.
This course also covers all required content areas listed in 21 NCAC 53 .0801, including:
Your certificate will document 45 hours of NBCC-approved supervisor training meeting all NC content standards.
Q: Will the NC Board definitely accept my certificate and grant the LCMHCS designation?
A: The NC Board has final authority.
Your certificate verifies 45 hours of required education from an NBCC ACEP provider, but the Board must still confirm your:
We have never had a certificate rejected based on training hours, but no provider can guarantee Board approval.
Q: This course is online but do I ever get to talk to an instructor and ask questions?
A: Yes. We have a weekly Zoom/virtual study hall that our instructors and graders attend. You can also use the link in your course to schedule a phone call.
Q: Are there payment plans?
A: Yes, we proudly accept Affirm and Klarna. Just click here and request a link.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept major credit cards, Amazon Pay, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH payments.
Q: This course was created in Texas. Will that affect my ability to qualify in NC?
A: No. This course fully aligns with North Carolina’s content requirements and includes state-specific updates.
You may see occasional references to Texas examples—these do not impact your NC eligibility.
Q: Can I take the course now and submit my certificate later when I become eligible?
A: Yes. Your certificate will remain valid as long as the North Carolina Board’s rules do not change. Always check current NC regulations before applying.
Q: Is there a deadline to complete the course?
A: Certificates reflect the date you begin the course (purchase or voucher activation) and the date you successfully complete all coursework.
There is no external deadline imposed by the North Carolina Board; however, Kate Walker Training revises and releases updated supervisor courses annually. For this reason, participants are encouraged to complete their training within one year of purchase to ensure continuity with the current course content and requirements.
Q: If I don’t finish the entire 45 hours, can I get partial CE credit?
A: No. You will receive a completion certificate only when the entire course and all assignments are finished and approved.
Q: Will this course prepare me to supervise in private practice or as a business in NC?
A: Yes. Once you hold the LCMHCS credential, North Carolina allows you to supervise:
This course includes templates and systems to support ethical, legally sound supervision as a business.
A: No. North Carolina allows the 45 hours to be completed fully online through an approved CE provider (NBCC ACEP).
There is no requirement for live or in-person training.
A: No exam is required.
A: No. LMFT supervision in North Carolina is governed by a different Board with different requirements. This course meets training requirements for LCMHCS (counseling), not LMFT supervision.
A: Yes. NC requires training in methods and techniques of clinical supervision, including group, triadic, and individual supervision. Our program includes all three.
