CCE-Approved Training for Mental Health Professionals Nationwide
Join 5,000+ clinicians who have leveled up their leadership with Kate Walker Training.
The Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) is a national credential issued by the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE). It identifies mental health professionals who have met nationally recognized standards for clinical supervision practice. Unlike state-issued supervisor designations, the ACS follows your license — not your zip code.
Kate Walker Training is a CCE Registered Credential Training Provider (RCTP# 1016-ACS).
This course is approved for 45 hours of ACS training.

You're looking for the fastest, cheapest path to a certificate. The ACS requires 45 hours of substantive training. We take that seriously. So does CCE.
Most supervisors start supervising before they feel fully prepared. They're good clinicians. They care about their supervisees. But caring isn't the same as being equipped — and when something goes wrong (a complaint, a boundary issue, a supervisee who isn't progressing), caring doesn't protect your license.
The ACS credential isn't about prestige. It's about preparation. It's the difference between supervising on instinct and supervising with a defensible framework.
This course meets the full 45-hour educational requirement for the ACS credential. It's self-paced, online, and built around the real decisions supervisors face, not just theory.
You'll leave with clarity on:
Kate Walker Training is the longest-running supervisor training program in Texas and the first to convert entirely online. Since 2006, we have graduated thousands of supervisors who now supervise safely, ethically, and confidently.
Many clinicians complete both — the state designation for board compliance, the ACS for professional credibility and portability.
Don't see your state? The ACS is nationally recognized and valued by boards beyond this list. Confirm current requirements directly with your state licensing board before enrolling.
State licensing requirements change. Always verify current requirements with your state licensing board — this table reflects general information and is not legal or licensing advice.

Q: If I finish this program, am I automatically a supervisor?
A: No. The Kate Walker Training Supervisor Courses only meet the education criteria set forth by the licensing boards. Upon completing this program, participants seeking the clinical supervisor credential must still meet the criteria mandated in their state regulations, apply, and pay all applicable fees. State licensing boards have ultimate jurisdiction.
Q: Is this course approved by my state's licensing board?
A: This course is approved by CCE for ACS training. It is not automatically approved for state-specific supervisor designations, which vary by state and license type. If you need a state-specific course, click here to see state-specific options. When in doubt, confirm requirements with your state licensing board.
Q: Can I get the Approved Clinical Supervisor credential with this course?
A: Yes. This course was approved April 2, 2026 by the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) to provide the 45 hour training for the Approved Clinical Supervisor Credential. See the CCE website for instructions on how to submit your course certificate.
Q: Who is this course designed for?
A: Licensed LPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and LCMHCs who are pursuing the ACS credential or who want comprehensive supervision training that meets national standards.
Q: I already completed a state supervisor training. Can that count toward the ACS?
A: The ACS has its own 45-hour requirement through CCE. A prior state training does not automatically satisfy this requirement. Contact CCE directly at cce-global.org to confirm how your prior training may or may not apply to your ACS application.
Q: I'm in Rhode Island. Does this course satisfy my supervisor requirements?
A: Rhode Island's supervision regulations (216-RICR-40-05-11) list the ACS as one of three qualifying pathways for approved supervisors. Completing this 45-hour course and earning the ACS credential through CCE is a recognized path to meeting that requirement. The specific subsection referencing the ACS is not clearly indexed in the publicly available code, so we recommend confirming directly with the Rhode Island Department of Health Board of Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists before enrolling if supervisor designation is your primary goal. For advice specific to your situation, consult your licensing board.
Q: I'm in Arizona. Does this course satisfy my supervisor requirements?
A: Yes, with one important addition. Under A.A.C. R4-6-214, the ACS credential is one of four accepted pathways to meet Arizona's supervisor education requirements through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE). This 45-hour course meets the ACS training requirement. However, Arizona also requires a separate 3-hour Clinical Supervision Tutorial on Arizona Statutes and Regulations, which must be completed through a provider specifically approved by AZBBHE. That tutorial is not included in this course and must be completed separately. Confirm current requirements with AZBBHE before enrolling.
Q: This course is online but do I ever get to talk to an instructor and ask questions?
A: Yes. We have a weekly Zoom/virtual study hall that our instructors and graders attend.
Q: Are there payment plans?
A: Yes, we proudly accept Affirm, After Pay, and Klarna. Just click here and request a link.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept major credit cards, Amazon Pay, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH payments.
Q: This course was created in Texas. Will that affect my ability to qualify for the ACS Credential?
A: No. This course fully aligns with CCE ACS requirements.
You may see occasional references to Texas examples but these do not impact your eligibility.
Q: Is there a deadline to complete the course?
A: This is a self-paced course. There is no mandatory completion deadline. Certificates reflect the date you begin the course (purchase or voucher activation) and the date you successfully complete all coursework. Kate Walker Training revises and releases updated supervisor courses annually. For this reason, participants are encouraged to complete their training within one year of purchase to ensure continuity with the current course content and requirements.
Q: If I don’t finish the entire 45 hours, can I get partial CE credit?
A: No. You will receive a completion certificate only when the entire course and all assignments are finished and approved.
Q: What do I do with my certificate of completion once I finish the course?
Your certificate of completion from Kate Walker Training documents that you have completed 45 hours of ACS training through a CCE Registered Credential Training Provider (RCTP# 1016-ACS). Here's what to do with it:
